I survived the ferry disaster – but lost 17 of my family
On a fateful day, I found myself on a ferry that met with a tragic accident. The chaos and fear that ensued are still etched in my memory. As the ferry started sinking, I saw my loved ones being swept away by the water, unable to save them. It was a nightmare that I wish I could wake up from.
Despite the overwhelming grief and loss, I somehow managed to survive. The guilt of being the one who made it out alive while my family perished weighs heavily on my heart. The pain is unbearable, and the void left by their absence is insurmountable.
I don’t know how to move on from this tragedy. Every day is a struggle, and the memories haunt me relentlessly. I try to find solace in the fact that I am still here, that I have been given a second chance at life. But the survivor’s guilt is a heavy burden to carry.
As I try to come to terms with my loss and grief, I hold on to the memories of my family. They will always be a part of me, and I will never forget the love and joy they brought into my life. May they rest in peace, knowing that they will always be cherished and remembered.
